Big Cats Don't Cry Productions, we are a Los Angeles based production company with a focus on developing, producing and/or co-producing visually captivating independent films that explore the intricacy of characters. Big Cats also believes in giving back — with every project we work on, we partner with a charitable organization that's relevant to the story being told.



Danielle Karagannis

Co-CEO, writer, director, executive producer 

Having recently completed A DAY, Danielle has a feature entitled INSOMNIA! that is midst financing and packaging, being produced by Gigi Dement and executive produced by Paul Miller. Alongside, Danielle is in post for short film GROUND CONTROL and workshopping the screenplay of the feature version. Danielle comes from an extensive visual arts background, with a Master of Arts from New York University, having been a working photographer for years prior to expanding her medium to filmmaking. Fluent at story, where she has professionally analyzed hundreds of screenplays and films for production companies, film festivals, and editorials. Additionally, Danielle was a long time trained and competitive musician in classical piano and the flute, having also taught herself acoustic, electric, and bass guitar. Much of her film inspiration and editing tactics derives from beats of music.

Josh Gridley

Co-CEO, executive producer, creative consultant

Josh began his career in film as a recipient of the prestigious Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Internship where his focus was animation. Following, he was selected for the apprenticeship program at Disney animation and shortly after, he was hired as an animator for Disney, Imageworks and ReelFx. From there, he expanded his skill set as a filmmaker and become a previs artist. Josh did previs at The Third Floor for seven years working primarily on tentpole films including Ready Player One, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Oblivion, The BFG, and so on. He is currently a senior animator at Insomniac Games, recently having worked on Marvel/Sony's Spider-Man, released September of 2018.
